Q: How long does it take to install the B480
Q: This of course depends on what type of car you have and how handy you are. But in general you only need to install the B480 in between the wiring leading to the 3rd brake light. In some cars you can access the 3rd brake light very easily in others you will have to dismantle some of the interior parts. The average installation time will vary from 20 minutes to 60 minutes in worst case.
Q: On my dashboard I get the indication that my brake light is broken?
A: All B480’s are equipped with a LED bypass which draws a low current and will therefore avoid such warning signals on the dashboard. We advise you to check if this LED is burning if your push the brake pedal. If the green LED is not burning please check all your connections.
Q: Is the B480 E approved?
A: No. At this moment there is no legislation available in Europe which covers the pulsing brake lights. But since some car manufacturers are offering this type of system on the cars the European legislation will “most probably” be changed and adjusted. The B480 is EMTS (e) approved and as soon as legislation in Europe is ready we will apply for E approval.
Q: Does the B480 actualy work?
A: On our site www.b480.com you will find a scientific research report done by Mercedes in which they have proven that a car equipped with such brake light will alert the driver behind him 0,2 seconds quicker though giving him more space to stop his car. Also other brands like BMW and Audi offer such systems although they use the intensity of the brake light to realize the same effect. All in view of more road safety

A: The B480 is equipped with the latest accelerometer microchip from Analog devices. This major manufacturer supplies the famous manufacturer of handheld navigations systems from Holland and navigations equipped mobile phones from Finland. Furthermore the double sided PCB board is covered by resin to protect against shocks, heat and abuse.

A: You have most probably wrongly connected the number 1 and number 4 pin on your B480 module. Please have this reversed and the problem will be solved.
